Vive la France. A pretty stone cottage set amongst a landscape of orchards, vineyards and flowery meadows. A truffle festival, one of the toughest bicycle races in the world and in Paris one of the world’s truly great cities.
An old world wine industry that is hard for the average Australian to understand. Wineries that just make a red and a white, wines that are labelled by region and not grape variety. The wines, the cheeses, the fresh crusty baguettes.
All summed up by a favourite French memory – spending the afternoon sitting in a chateau in Sancerre overlooking the Loire Valley drinking wine and eating a soft goats cheese filled with a layer of truffle.
