Another quality wine from one of our favourite Pinot Noir producers. The newly released 2013 is another great wine from Stephen George.
Tyson Stelzer – 95Pts
“An effortless pinot noir, capturing the fruit intensity and complexity of a warm and very dry season, while presenting it with grace and poise, framed in a silky and refined structure. It’s spicy and intense on the bouquet, with mixed spice, berry compote, sarsaparilla, anise and beetroot. The palate has excellent poise of rose hip and violet perfume over a core of dark berry fruit and savoury beetroot persistence, laced seamlessly together with finely structured tannins of silky texture and great persistence.” Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste Weekly, 4th July 2014.

From the standout 2016 vintage is the first release of Brockenchack’s Eden Valley Pinot Noir. Grown at the highest point of the vineyard (480M), this is an elegant Pinot from the cooler climate of the Eden Valley
Quite simply one of the finest examples of Australian Pinot Noir we have come across. The dry grown grapes lay within the Piccadilly Valley region of the Adelaide Hills below the top of Mount Lofty. Resulting in the perfect cool climate environment for Pinot Noir to thrive. Add to this the mastery of Adelaide Hills pioneering head winemaker Stephen George and we are left with what legendary Australian wine writer James Halliday refers to as “the one Grand Cru of the state”.
Made from low cropped, hand harvested premium fruit taken from a select vineyard in the Upper Yarra Valley. Aged in French oak barriques for 6 months.
This wine is named as a tribute to Trevor and Marilyn’s two granddaughters, in acknowledgement of their passion and excellence in ballet and dancing. It’s play on the French ballet term ‘en pointe’, to stand on ones toes in full extension – no easy feat – and something both granddaughters can do with ease and grace.
After back to back sell-out successes for all three consecutive releases of this wine, our 2019 vintage of On Point Pinot Grigio has been bottle as soon as possible, ensuring we capture all those wonderful bunch-fresh aromas and flavours for you.
