2018 is Brockenchack’s second Grenache release from their Eden Valley single vineyard.
Being named Eden Valley Grenache Winery of the Year at the 2019 Melbourne International Wine Show, for their 2017 (and first release) Megan Jane Grenache,
was a huge achievement for our family as we were up against some world-renowned wineries. This recognition is something we will always be immensely proud of, and it goes a long way toward proving that the quality of our vineyard is something very special and indeed capable of producing world class wine varieties, outside of our region’s renowned Riesling and Shiraz.
It certainly set the bar pretty high for our future expressions of this varietal… but our second installment, the 2018 Megan Jane, sails right over that bar and continues soaring.
Megan has been an integral part of our Brockenchack team since our inception and we felt it only fitting to honour her ongoing dedication by naming this wine after her.

Quite simply one of the finest examples of Australian Pinot Noir we have come across. The dry grown grapes lay within the Piccadilly Valley region of the Adelaide Hills below the top of Mount Lofty. Resulting in the perfect cool climate environment for Pinot Noir to thrive. Add to this the mastery of Adelaide Hills pioneering head winemaker Stephen George and we are left with what legendary Australian wine writer James Halliday refers to as “the one Grand Cru of the state”.
Classic, smooth, yet intense Barossa shiraz. Very bright black and red fruits along with dark chocolate and plums on what is a lush and inviting nose. There’s richness on the palate, depth of flavour and spice too.
Another remarkable bargain made by former maker of Grange and 2 time Jimmy Watson Winner Mike Farmilo.
A fantastic example of premium Australian Chardonnay from this James Halliday 5 Star Rated Winery
“Peach, apple, pear and citrus flavours give this both plenty of flavour and a deal of zesty/tangy drive. Oak lends a hand but keeps its influence light. Ample appeal.” – James Halliday
This wine is named as a tribute to Trevor and Marilyn’s two granddaughters, in acknowledgement of their passion and excellence in ballet and dancing. It’s play on the French ballet term ‘en pointe’, to stand on ones toes in full extension – no easy feat – and something both granddaughters can do with ease and grace.
After back to back sell-out successes for all three consecutive releases of this wine, our 2019 vintage of On Point Pinot Grigio has been bottle as soon as possible, ensuring we capture all those wonderful bunch-fresh aromas and flavours for you.
