Fratelli Ponte Barbera D’Asti Superior
The Ponte family have been hand farming their vineyards for 3 generations. Starting with good site selection they maintain the vineyards with the traditions of their grandfather. This combined with modern temperature controlled winemaking has allowed the family to produce some great value wines.
Grapes – 100% Barbera from vineyards of calcareous soil in the San Damiano d”Asti area
Wine making – Fermented in Stainless steel with 6 months in steel, followed by 6 months in Barriques and a further 6 months in oak barrells
Colour – Ruby Red
Nose – Light traces of blackfruits and Oak
Palate – Zesty red fruits with classic Barbera acidity that has been well balanced into the wine with light oak
Pairing – Best served slighlty chilled (in Australia) fantastic with tomato sauced seafood pasta dishes
