Mataro | Grenache | Shiraz | Cinsault
Sourced from vineyards averaging 70 years of age, low yielding and hand tended. Esprit is matured in large French oak barrels ranging from 500L to 3000L which allow the development of a complex vinous flavor-base yet preserve fruit freshness and tannin edge.
Ruby and garnet hues, bright. Has a deep core of velvety red and black fruits – plum, red currant and blackberry; overlaid with warm leather, tobacco, fresh earth, sage, cedar and high toned violet and white pepper notes. Aromatically fine and complex, multi-layered and discrete – the hallmarks of old vine fruit are clearly evident in this wine.
Distinctly mid-weight on the palate with a keen balance of fresh acidity, tannin and fruit sweetness. Flavors mirror the aromas. Bright red fruits build and gain depth to a spicy, savoury, vinous finish. Bright fruit acids and finely edged tannins give drive and freshness. Engaging and satisfying.
Ruby red with nice berry and spice nose – bigger Barossa red but well balanced easy drinking. Light pepper flavours and a long finish that is silky smooth.
