This Heirloom Vineyards King’s Garden McLaren Vale Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre was crafted with grapes from hand tended vines, sorted bunch by bunch, naturally open fermented with regular hand plunging and gentle pumping over to extract colour, flavour, and tannin. Aged in some new but mainly 3 and 4 year old French and American oak Hogsheads for 16 months.
Dark and dense and very formally attired, this classic Rhone blend is confidently and powerfully at home in McLaren Vale. The combined grape varieties throw heady aromas of earth, plums, spice, meatiness, white chocolate and pink peppercorns.
Heirloom Vineyards was conceived in vintage 2000, when a young winemaking student caught the eye of a silly old wine judge. A love story ensued inspired by two vows: To preserve the best of tradition, the old world of wine and our unique old vineyards and to champion the best clones of each variety planted in the most appropriate sites embracing the principals of organic and biodynamic farming

First Creek Wines is a family owned and operated winery based in the Hunter Valley NSW, Australia’s oldest wine producing region. Our talented and highly acclaimed team of winemakers have been crafting wines of exceptional regional quality since 1996. Greg Silkman – CEO and Winemaker, Liz Silkman – Chief Winemaker, Shaun Silkman – Chief Operating Officer and their team consistently make wines that highlight the great diversity of styles from the Hunter Valley, as well as examples from other wine regions. First Creek’s emphasis on careful fruit selection and rigorous attention to detail throughout the winemaking process has produced a range of wines that appeal to both critics and consumers alike
Botanica is a range of wines emphasising a clean and ecological approach to fruit selection, combined with a ‘hands off’ approach in the winery. We let the fruit speak for itself.
This Eden Valley Cabernet shows inherent aromas of vanilla, cloves and gentle aniseed, amongst dark fruits. Intrinsic leafiness is captured throughout the palate length, within ripe blackberry, black currant, black cherry and cocoa characters. There is a defined moment of black pepper amidst the long arc of superbly ripe tannins.
Another fantastic wine from Monterra and former winemaker of Grange Mike Farmilo. Lots going on here with cherries, red apples, redcurrant, red liquorice, white pepper and herbs all in tow. It is unashamedly medium bodied and offers great intensity of fruit, savoury notes and excellent structure.
