Bright lemon in colour with pronounced aromas of fresh lemon and lime with hints of grapefruit and orange blossom. Definitive lime citrus aromas, famously recognised with Eden Valley. These fresh citrus characters are further expressed on the palate with hints of green apple. Deep roots…
Quite simply one of the finest examples of Australian Pinot Noir we have come across. The dry grown grapes lay within the Piccadilly Valley region of the Adelaide Hills below the top of Mount Lofty. Resulting in the perfect cool climate environment for Pinot Noir to thrive. Add to this the mastery of Adelaide Hills pioneering head winemaker Stephen George and we are left with what legendary Australian wine writer James Halliday refers to as “the one Grand Cru of the state”.
The consistency of the Clare climate usually produces a good Cabernet Sauvignon. 2016 with a wet winter and mild summer takes the variety to a new level. Aged for 20 months in French Oak. Will cellar for at least 10-15 years.
