“…this is the richest and most distinguished ’11 vintage red from Eastern Australia I have tasted in the more than 6000 wines to pass across my palate this year.” James Halliday 97Pts
Even more ‘European’ in style than the inaugural 2010 release, the 2011 Graillot Syrah continues our mission to produce a perfumed, elegant and structured Syrah style. Finely etched tannins and a mineral profile of graphite and charcoal form the foundation, above which we see black cherry fruit and small fruit-of-forest berries, and a broad aromatic spectrum of violets and smoky notes. Seductive and understated, it finishes long, fine and clean.
The Traveller’s notes
One of my favourite reds from Australia. Deep red in colour with aromas that take me to my years in geology and the smell of freshly broken granite and flint. Mouth filling fruit but well balanced with smooth tannins it finishes long and clean.
